Large shady trees, wide open spaces, colourful children’s play grounds and beautiful gardens all help to make the Parkland a fun place for a family day out.
Free daily guided walks are available and include the popular, stroller friendly 'Out & about with bub' walks which take place every Wednesday. You can also enjoy a self guided walk though the Colin Campbell Place, play 'I spy' or learn more about art in the Parkland by taking a self guided art walk. For more information, visit the guided walks page.
Playground areas are situated in the Upper Parkland and are fun spaces for big imaginations to run wild. Situated under shady trees kids can enjoy playing on swings, climbing frames, slides, and much more. The playground area also features a Liberty Swing, especially designed for children with disabilities. For more information, download the Liberty Swing flyer.
There are BBQs and picnic benches located next to the playground area. BBQs are available on a first come first serve basis throughout the Parkland. The grassy slopes surrounding the playground area are ideal for family picnics, or if you want space to throw a frisbee around, try the Lake Precinct with its wide open spaces. It is an ideal place to burn off some energy or just kick back and relax.
Visit Rainforest Corner to download activities that give children the opportunity to burn off energy and keep them entertained. These activities can be utilised in conjunction with the free guided walks or as a do it yourself activity at home.
